Honestly,
The concept of Outward Bound and trying to find urself is a little pathetic to me. All the "quotes" as they call it, well i just played along to show some respect to the instructors.
Which is why i sent home a blank piece of paper to myself, which is open to interpretations, but of course the blank piece of paper i have my own reason for it.
Just that i have other ways of finding myself. I do not find getting stuck in a jungle and missing prayers useful to me. Kept worrying that my life would get taken away and i'd end up in hell for missing few days of prayers. Deep from my heart i do not appreciate that.
Well so why do i even bother to want to go?
coz of the prospect of visiting some place new, unfamiliar. And the physical activities like rafting/kayaking which i would otherwise not undertake due to my lack of leisure time and laziness.
Nonetheless, Brunei is a beautiful country. And i appreciate the fact that Islam is widespread.
And we saw live crocodiles basking in the sun on the way to the camp

The following instantly makes u an idiot:
-When u think u're so damn good.
The following instantly makes u a shame:
-When u do things wrong but still think it's right.
Nuff said fool.

I'm back again for the weekend, and guard duty from last night till this morning. Some rather unpleasant things happened just now. Just hope nuthin happens to 33rd coming week.
Anyways, this week has been rather good. Combined training between rota 1 and rota 2 has, in my observation, allowed both rotas to work together. Looking back at the inter-rota tensions the past couple of months, it just feels good to see all clicking together. Now i feel a greater sense of being a part of 33rd ERS.
Apart from the whack-and-whack-under-the-hot-sun-session after REPT on thursday whereby i vomitted 3 times for the first time in my entire life in CDA, things have more or less started to ease a bit. I think the weather has made previously cool people a tad more aggressive. Including me i suppose. But all of that stays in camp. At home i'm a different person.
LPG training on thursday, medic week, fsc. looks like a good week. not too keen on LPG though. The thought of all the hoses and heat. AAH.
Oh no, which means i've got more work to do next week to prepare all the BA and stuff. AAAAAAAAHHH.

The fury of my bike rushing me home, and brakes jammed late, and barely beating red traffic lights.
I'm home for a night out. Long time since we had one. Gotta be back in camp by 2230. urgh so fast.

It's the weekend again!
Anyway what this week was for me,
Finished off the lesson on the Combined Platform ladder, which is really tall - 30 meters into the air - at Mandai Training Village. I love going to Mandai, it just doesn't feel like camp. It was so relaxed the week before.
And then back in camp, met Ryan who was having fire-fighting lessons in CDA. It's really nice meeting friends you haven't met in a really long time, like how i met a good old friend, Syed Khalid, who's now a Section Commander in Alex fire station, couple of weeks back.
And then went swimming in a small network of cramped tunnels. The first section was dry, just had to squeeze through, and i was in front. Then came the part where we had to dive through a part which was fully submerged with water. Well, i dipped my head in the murky water which resembled teh tarik, tried to breathe through the breathing apparatus, got super scared and pulled my head back out of the water. There was no other way so i just took a couple of deep breaths and took a plunge and started breathing slowly, afraid my face mask would suddenly come off and cause me to drown. eek eerie that would be. Went smooth, then became kinda fun coz it was pitch black i couldn't see anything. 10 seconds and i was out of the water. That gotta be the highlight of the week. Confined Space.
Ippt yesterday afternoon, got a silver for the 4 stations without much perspiration, then the 2.4 run. Well i think i did improve. I was like trying to remain hyper throughout the run so that it wouldn't feel so boring resulting in me losing my pace. It worked apparently.
So now I'm at home. But my dad's not home yet. Every weekend he's out working the whole day. The only times i see him is when i manage to wake up extra early for my morning prayers (sometimes i just wake up to the sound of the main door being locked), and at night, whereby he's usually too tired to hang around with us. Does his night prayers and then goes off to sleep. Oh i see him just hours before i book in too. I don't blame him. He's got bills to pay, and i understand that perfectly. Sometimes i get caught between 2 different opinions from other members of my family and it's kinda hard. I just wanna go home to a happy family every weekend. Well at least i get to see everyone before i go back to the horrid camp.
Went to play tennis at bedok with my siblings just now. 3 noobs playing tennis. Damn noob. hahah.
Oh and my dad's been insisting that i get my rear tyres replaced. They still feel usable, but I'm just happy he is insisting, coz it shows that he cares. I just feel thankful to God coz my parents are still, the best parents in the world, no matter the mistakes they make sometimes.

Oh no.
Its a Sunday today. Not again. I just can't get enough of home, car and the outdoors when I'm a 2-day civillian. 1 hour and 10 mins to go before i leave my home for camp. PLEASE PASS QUICKLY 2 YEARS.
Drive drive drive. Ooops i find myself swaying back to aggressive driving. I should be backing down. But then these annoying road hoggers, cabbies and ignorant drivers alike. Urgh. U see the cab travelling at 90 - 100 on the fast lane. Damn annoying coz they cause the damn jams on the highways.
Class 2a is coming i can feeeel it. hahah.
Oh im tired.

I pretty much enjoyed this weekend.
Thanks to my parents who let me bring the car out to meet up with 2 sets of friends.
Yesterday went to eat sup tulang with some of the dudes from 33rd ERSC. After that bowling at marina square. By then i was running a little late for the movie at 0005hrs.
At 0005hrs caught up with davin, darryl and fawwaz to watch Monsters vs Aliens. The graphics were pretty nice. In the beginning some bugger was hitting a ping pong ball or sth towards the screen, and it being 3d, i literally tried to dodge it. some instant reaction from me.
Ran into a police road block on the way home, and on the pie, the personnel in a traffic police patrol car did sth funny. I was trying to maintain my speed behind them, then they slowed down. When i was just beside them, the driver looked over his shoulder and kinda stared at me in a weird fashion. Like what the.... Interesting things happen at night.

Oh great.
The washing machine in our dormitory went broke, refusing to wash our sweat-drenched number fours. And a great inconvenience it is.
And so here i am back at home for the weekend. Today was a very tiring week, with our Breathing Apparatus Proficiency Test to finish up the week, and sliding pole before we went home. I wanna learn how to jump off the landing onto the pole and slide down using the Singapore style. It'd be cool. Coming week, we'd be playing with water. How fun. Just dreading the ladder drills.
And my bike is out for repairs. The gear lever shaft snapped on my way home yesterday.
oh well.
